FROM SOCIAL INCLUSION PARTNERSHIP TO COMMUNITY REGENERATION FUND From April 2004 SIP became a part of the Community Planning Partnership. These partnerships bring together key public service providers such as councils, the NHS, police, fire service and enterprise networks with the communities they serve to plan services that meet the needs of the people who use them. New guidance issued by Communities Scotland has set out the next step for Scotland’s 32 Community Planning Partnerships (CPPs) who want to use the Community Regeneration Fund.

The Community Regeneration Fund announced by former Communities Minister, Margaret Curran, in July combines the Social Inclusion Partnership (SIP) fund with the Better Neighbourhood Services Fund (BNSF) and the Tackling Drugs misuse Fund. The £104 million fund of which Dundee has been allocated £5,775,000 will be used to deliver specific regeneration improvements to communities ranked within the most deprived 15% in Scotland. In Dundee these communities have been separated into “clusters”. There are five geographic “clusters” that the Regeneration Fund will cover.
Ardler Village, Kirkton and St. Mary’s
make up our local cluster.
